We are a branding and marketing team. We specialize in social media management, logo design, printed material, web design and creating written content.

Most of the clients we have view us as extensions of their  team. We work with them closely. Our work allows them to focus on their business and makes them more efficient.

At the core of things, we view our work as beginning until end. We don’t believe in sales marketing but rather, relational marketing. Sometimes not selling anything, sells everything.

EXPLAIN THE CREATIVE INPUT YOU HAVE IN YOUR PROJECTS.

Creatively I have a considerable amount of input into projects, which is one of my favorite aspects of working as a graphic designer at Abovo. When I am given a project, I have an overview of what the client wants to accomplish. I am then able to work side by side with the Account Manager to find an original and branded solution to the client’s needs that isn’t just functional but also visually striking. I can bring my strengths as a creator to the table and provide design, that doesn’t just satisfy the customer, but also is an outcome that I am proud to have created.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE LIKE WORKING REMOTELY?

Working remotely for Abovo has been a novel but overall great experience. When I moved abroad to the UK I had to start doing all of my work remotely in order to remain on the Abovo team. Then when the pandemic took over, forcing people to work from home, I was ahead of the curve and remote work was just another day for me. Working from home has taught me to manage my time better and also to work independently. The fact that Abovo provided all the technology I needed to be successful from across the world made the entire transition that much smoother.

WHAT IS THE OFFICE LIKE DURING A TYPICAL DAY?

At Abovo, we enjoy working together. We are a small, close group of people, each with different skill sets. It’s so much fun to collaborate and build off each other’s ideas to make everything we do the best it can be.

WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS HAS ABOVO DONE?

Most projects we take on and/or have done consist of creating/designing an asset that is used in a campaign on a digital or traditional platform.  The assets we’ve created have utilized our graphic designers; photography/videography skills; and sometimes, both.  They always use our creative ideas and solutions.  We have created television commercials, direct mail campaigns, coordinated multi-layer giveaway campaigns, we’ve written and produced ads for Spotify, created experiences using virtual and augmented reality technology and have even taken on interior design projects.

WHAT DOES AN AVERAGE WORKWEEK LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

While it certainly varies from week to week depending on the projects we’re working on, my typical work week generally consists of a few staples. On Mondays, we always have an internal Abovo Team meeting in the afternoon in which we share an overview of the projects we’re working on for the week ahead, and take the time to go over projects that involve multiple team members. For me, this is the only recurring calendar event week-after-week. On any given day, my time is often spent communicating with clients over the phone and/or email, coordinating projects/working with our designers, creating proposals, and communicating with vendors to gather quotes, place orders, and facilitate projects. If we happen to be working on projects with any audio requirements, I often work from my home studio to record/edit/mix our clients’ audio needs. Near the end of the month, I can also be found preparing and sending invoices to clients and collecting payment.

WHAT TYPE OF VARIETY IS IN YOUR PROJECTS AND ASSIGNMENTS?

The best part of my job is the wide variety of things I get to do on a daily basis. From week to week I have a completely different schedule and list of creative projects I get to dig into. One week I will be sourcing packaging and putting together new products and the next I will be learning the ins and outs of stop motion animation. I have gotten to pitch new ideas and be with them from brainstorming to execution. The collaborative environment of Abovo also allows me to give input into whatever projects are being worked on, not just the ones I am in charge of. The freedom to try out my ideas, no matter how crazy they are, as well as the wide variety projects I get to be involved in keeps me excited to go to work.
