Short-Term Rental Branding

THE CHALLENGE

The client wanted the space to feel calm and intentional, unlike anything else available on the short-term rental market. It had to give guests a reason to choose this unit over countless others. It had to feel local, and it had to feel like a place people craved to stay, not just sleep in.
Our challenge was to deliver something memorable without losing the soothing feel the space already had. The space itself, a 120+ year-old Fargo loft with wood floors and exposed brick, already had great bones. Our job was to add story and style.

THE SOLUTION

We started with a central idea: what if the identity of Fargo wasn’t just referenced, but woven into the walls. The result is a custom wallpaper that prominently features the word “FARGO” in large-scale letterforms. Some letters are unmistakable. Others are hidden in the rhythm of the design, inviting guests to look twice, maybe even lean in.

The color palette was drawn from mid-century and Scandinavian influence, but grounded in earth tones to honor the building’s warmth and patina. We printed the design as custom wallcovering for the headboard accent wall and built the surrounding interiors around it, creating a space that feels graphic and intentional.

In the bathroom, we brought another concept to life: a high-contrast floral pattern that climbs from the wall onto the ceiling. The surprise of that ceiling treatment adds art and edge to an otherwise utilitarian room.

We handled everything from wallpaper design and production to sourcing furniture, rugs, lighting, and accessories. The result is a full-sensory guest experience that feels locally rooted and editorially styled.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Porterfield Place #2 was a rare chance to blend interior design, environmental branding, and creative storytelling into one bold space. It shows that short-term rentals don’t need to play it safe, and that a well-designed space can become part of the experience instead of just the background.
From concept to installation, our team brought curiosity and craft to every design decision. This was more than wallpaper. It was a way to show what it means to stay in Fargo.
