Great Plains Food Bank Branding

ABOUT GREAT PLAINS FOOD BANK

Started in 1983, the Great Plains Food Bank serves the entire state of North Dakota and Clay County, Minnesota. Their team, alongside more than 5,000 volunteers, help guide donated surplus food and grocery products to their network of food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, and other charitable feeding programs throughout the area.

The Challenge

The Great Plains Food Bank needed an updated look. Outdated branding did not represent the progressive and innovative work of this non-profit. As a well-known, much used, and very loved area organization, care was needed to ensure those who work, volunteer, donate, and utilize the Great Plains Food Bank continued to feel connected to the brand.

The Solution

Abovo worked with the Great Plains Food Bank team to update branding elements, rather than change them completely. Royal blue and bright yellow were changed to shades of navy blue, gold and grey. Three strands of wheat and script text were updated to a single, bold strand of wheat and clean, sans serif font. The result was an impactful brand befitting a strong organization.

About the Project

It is an honor to see the Great Plains Food Bank’s updated branding elements in use every day. From billboards and trucks to donation bins and apparel, the brand’s bold look is easy to identify, while their presence in the areas they serve is easy to see. We’re proud of the transition, aiming toward the future with a strong foundation in the past.
